It surveys the faith stories of seven evangelical leaders and their sons from the mid-twentieth century to the present. It also surveys the canon of scripture to see how the baton of faith is passed or not passed from fathers to sons. Using an author-developed questionaire, the seven case studies were evaluated in the areas of conversion experience, subsequent challenges to faith, and relationship between fathers and sons. In addition this research examines father/son relationships through the entire canon of scripture. The first two chapters draw an introductory portrait of ministry needs. The next chapter describes six phases of methodology necessary to achieve this goal, followed by a theologically constructed foundation in chapter four. The next two chapters use examples of church conflict found in the New Testament and describe the findings from survey analysis. The image that some Christian leaders have of digital technology and social media is that it is unnecessary, is a waste of time, and is fraught with potential dangers. Similar to most emerging technologies, dangers to exist; however, an opportunity to expand exponentially the influence of a disciple maker through digital technology and social media also exists. This dissertation will document a digital=discipleship experiment that was conducted in the writer's church for one month. It will describe the theological foundation for discipleship. Further, it will test the results of the digital-discipleship experiment with spiritual inventories, which were conducted before and after the experiment. The results demonstrated that digital technology is an asset to discipleship. This author was invited to speak at the inaugural pastor's conference hosted by the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. The need for a biblical pre-marital and marriage counseling manual that will equip Protestant ministers to assist people in building their marriages on the foundation of God's word was discovered through formal and informal discussions with indigenous ministers. The manual emphasizes the truth that marriage is God's creation and not solely man's institution, as propogated by the Soviet regime. Therefore the Bible is the source for identifying the purpose as well as understanding the principles for marriage. Chapters include the following teachings: the authority and sufficiency of scripture for biblical counseling, building a biblical foundation for marriage, pre-marital counseling, divorce and remarriage, and counseling for major marriage problems.
