He then outlines the relationships that believers have with God, the Word, other believers, preachers, and non-believers which flow from a proper understanding of the priesthood of all believers. The author researched the exegetical clues within Hebrews to determine whether or not these influence the communication in preaching. He concluded that there is a philosophy of preaching within Hebrews that can be modeled by contemporary preachers. It surveys the faith stories of seven evangelical leaders and their sons from the mid-twentieth century to the present. It also surveys the canon of scripture to see how the baton of faith is passed or not passed from fathers to sons. Using an author-developed questionaire, the seven case studies were evaluated in the areas of conversion experience, subsequent challenges to faith, and relationship between fathers and sons. In addition this research examines father/son relationships through the entire canon of scripture. The next two chapters use examples of church conflict found in the New Testament and describe the findings from survey analysis. A sound biblical exposition of Luke 4:18 by the researcher reveals the poor primarily as the spiritual poor, but does not exclude economic conditions. The image that some Christian leaders have of digital technology and social media is that it is unnecessary, is a waste of time, and is fraught with potential dangers. Similar to most emerging technologies, dangers to exist; however, an opportunity to expand exponentially the influence of a disciple maker through digital technology and social media also exists. This dissertation will document a digital=discipleship experiment that was conducted in the writer's church for one month. It will describe the theological foundation for discipleship. Further, it will test the results of the digital-discipleship experiment with spiritual inventories, which were conducted before and after the experiment. The results demonstrated that digital technology is an asset to discipleship.
