Many existing programs of evangelism emphasize the knowledge and experience of the presenter of the gospel.  The emphasis of this project will be on recognizing and ministering to the needs of the receiver of the gospel message, the international student.  The eleven-session project includes two evaluation sessions and one session on the biblical basis for evangelism among international students.  The remaining nine sessions are designed to train American students to develop personal relationships with internationals.  These relationships should become channels through which the gospel is communicated. Training sessions will include information that will prepare the participants to communicate cross-culturally. Participants will also be trained to develop relationships by ministering in three specific areas.  These areas include physical, relational, and spiritual needs. Fifteen persons, 65 years of age or older, were enlisted in an eleven-week training session designed to equip them for ministry projects of their choosing, to undergird them in ministering through the selected ministry projects, and to guide them in evaluating the projects they selected. The major components of the project were: goal setting, communication, conflict management, personality type, and spiritual gifts. The program was conducted over an eight-week period with ten participants.
