The eight messages centered on eight hindrances, as discovered by survey, that most hampered aggressive witnessing.  The pastor organized members into small discussion groups, prayer groups, and witnessing teams to implement this plan. Each message was discussed and suggestions were given on how it could be applied in practical ministry. The basis of this project was the formulation of a Notebook of Biblical Marketplace Ethics that addressed not only the issue of the Christian's attitude toward work but also established a set of personal work ethics.  A six-week course was designed and taught to a group of committed Christians using the Notebook. Though there are Orthodox people in a number of regions of the world, the focus of this project will be on people with Orthodox background who are currently living in Eastern Europe or who have immigrated from countries in Eastern Europe. The project work will begin with extensive research of the beliefs of people of Eastern orthodox background. The research will primarily be conducted through a study of the literature available on Eastern Orthodoxy, but will also involve interviews with current and former Orthodox adherents. Two means will be used to inform and train evangelical Christians in how to witness to people of Eastern Orthodox background. First, the writer will develop, lead, and evaluate a seminar on witnessing to Orthodox people. Seminar participants will be issued a manual that will reinforce the material taught. Second, the writer will revise the manual based on evaluation and feedback from seminar participants. Individuals within the church who have evidenced a call to vocational ministry will be paired with a pastoral staff member who will serve as a mentor. The program will attempt to develop these ministerial students through mentoring relationships. The project leader will meet weekly with the pastoral staff and ministerial students for large group teaching sessions related to spiritual growth and ministry. The six members of the pastoral staff will meet with smaller groups of ministerial students (two or three students) on a weekly basis for mentoring. The mentoring meetings will consist of debriefing these students on the personal growth achieved through the teaching sessions and various assignments. The pastoral staff will meet together weekly to discuss issues and questions related to individual groups. This project will provide a preparatory learning experience for ministerial students and show that mentoring is an effective means of spiritual and vocational growth.
