Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning both center and circle.  The purpose of this dissertation was to arrive at a description and understanding of the experience of drawing the mandala and its meaning in the author's life and ministry from a theological, spiritual and psychological perspective.  Two co-researchers were chosen for this study. The author used image dialogues with her mandalas, while open-ended interviews were conducted with the co-researchers to gather the themes for this research. Major themes of self-integration and expanded awareness led to greater confidence in the experience of drawing the mandala to express the individual's spiritual and psychological journey of transformation. Specifically, the dissertation pursues the question: what benefits, possibilities, barriers, and limitations need to be considered for interdisciplinary ministry collaboration to be fostered between faith community (parish) nurses and faith group leaders in promoting a renewal of both faith and health in times of transition?  Data was gathered over five years. The course was developed from an action-research model drawn from personal reading, study and pragmatic homiletic assumptions found most helpful from the author's experience as a bi-vocational and career minister and employs the works of several homileticians to enhance the understanding of the preaching task.  The dissertation addresses a project/prototype of the course, which was produced in print and electronic (CD-ROM) formats to accommodate classroom or home study.
