A review of recent literature reveals the evaluation of the Prayer Summit movement, city-wide crusades and other efforts to come together.  The acceptance of diversity and its relation to changes in our society is also discussed. Several key passages in the Bible are examined to determine the key principles for unity to occur among believers and the place diversity has in that experience.  A survey was conducted of pastors in the writer's local community to identify the current perspective of unity with diversity. Basic beliefs are delineated that are viewed as essential for unity as well as a clarification of the issues that are understood as acceptable areas of diversity in the Body of Christ. Rooted in sound biblical theology and reality-tested common sense, this dissertation offers a bold new approach to telling time.  The delineation of two kinds of time and how to recognize each affords the reader an opportunity to break out of the mono-dimensional straight jacket of living by one kind of time.  The dissertation explores skills to make the most of significant time opportunities. The study evaluates the content and delivery of sermons of Jesus Christ, Charles Swindoll, an overseas-born pastor, and an American-born Chinese pastor.  The research includes comparing sermon content and style, and comparing sermon evaluation surveys of the two sermons by the overseas-born and American-born congregations.
