The initial data were generated by a questionnaire specifically designed and directed to the fourteen congregational owners.  A provincial status was then developed and circulated, accompanied by a survey validation document. The approach was an enhancement of Holland's and Henriot's 'pastoral circle.' The structure of the approach is informed by cases of abusive children.  Two case studies are offered with reflection on the approach developed and abusive children themselves.  Results showed the approach to be positive especially in combining input from theology and social sciences.  The children were noted to be unrealistic in their assessment of their relationships with other family members. The writer worked with a small group of people who kept journals and shared life experiences around metaphors for the Christian seasons.  The method of research was qualitative in that the writer was a participant observer using Whitehead's model of theological reflection.
