Worksheets with assigned passages and questions were distributed and returned for pre-training assignments, in-training homework, and concluding with a post-training project. The pre- and post-training worksheets were compared to determine the trainee's understanding and application of the principles. The overall design of the project was to create a climate and ecology that would be conductive for spiritual growth and whole person transformation into Christlikeness. The design included a qualitative approach, incorporating three macro environments: a sermon series on Christlikeness; an interactive guide; and small group gatherings. To capture the lived experience, in-depth phenomenological interviews were used. The program consisted of sermons, small group discussion and daily devotional reading. This project sought to increase the effectiveness of teaching and preaching Hebrew narratives in the local church via a five week seminar to equip participants in discovering the central thrust of Old Testament narratives. Goals and objectives were established, relevant data gathered, analyzed from volunteers. An analysis of the data revealed notable improvements in the participants' overall effectiveness in teaching narrative. This project evaluated core classes in light of the Apostle Paul's goal of strengthening churches and their members, the biblical content of the kerygma and the didache necessary to strengthen every Christian, the means of instruction for facilitating lifelong learning, and the means of assessing the progress of the learners as a result of the teaching. The research design combines feedback from church leadership and participants as well as non-participants in the classes through surveys and open-ended interviews. Hebrews"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project attempts to answer the question: what does a new believer need to get started right in their walk with the Lord. The author examines the biblical text for clues, and looks closely at what groups who specialize in evangelism and discipleship use in their endeavors. The majority of groups, such as Campus Crusade for Christ, the Navigators, Billy Graham's organizations, and others, use follow-up material that focuses primarily on the spiritual disciplines of prayer, Bible study, church involvement, and stewardship. Yet the Scriptures indicate that the place to begin is with the foundational teachings referred to in Hebrews 6:1-2. Those basic teachings include--the doctrine of Christ, repentance from dead works, faith toward God, baptism, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. It is the conviction of the author that to achieve biblical results we should be following the biblical guidelines when working with new believers. That idea is both developed and supported in this paper.
