The primary objective of this project was to develop, teach, and evaluate a four-part lesson plan for Christian Life College-Madison leadership course that included guidance-based group decision-making skills. Another major focus was to stimulate a change of mind and anticipated future  actions among students. Worksheets with assigned passages and questions were distributed and returned for pre-training assignments, in-training homework, and concluding with a post-training project. The pre- and post-training worksheets were compared to determine the trainee's understanding and application of the principles. This research centered on the task of enhancing a specific seminar in French-speaking, Sub-Saharan Africa through non-formal methods. The research design uses content analysis, and incorporates interviews, questionnaires, as well as notes and observations of three generations of seminars to generate methods of instructing. These methods integrate models of orality, the traditional way that people in Africa learn, general adult education, and the teachings of Jesus. The field work research methodologies included e-mail questionnaires, writing of seminar teacher and student manuals, receiving peer evaluation of curriculum, and recruiting, teaching, deploying, and evaluating volunteers through a mentoring process. The seminar taught foundations for spiritual care, understanding older adults, basic guidelines for visitation, and the skills of listening spiritual assessment, prayer, and the use of scriptures. The project succeeded in training 38 individuals and deploying nine volunteers who provided 315 visits to residents. This project, therefore, developed lectures on the creation ordinances of Genesis, the wisdom sayings of Proverbs, the beatitudes of Matthew's gospel, and the key vice and virtue lists of the New Testament.  The research design combined thirteen weeks of instruction, weekly sermonic reading, daily practice of the spiritual disciplines, and evaluation instruments.
