The heart of this project involved a group of young men who said they believe the gospel, and agreed to apply Hiebert's critical contextualization model to their use of corn beer. The overall design of the project was to create a climate and ecology that would be conductive for spiritual growth and whole person transformation into Christlikeness. The design included a qualitative approach, incorporating three macro environments: a sermon series on Christlikeness; an interactive guide; and small group gatherings. To capture the lived experience, in-depth phenomenological interviews were used. The Gospel is nourishment the Christian needs for that change. Therefore, this project tested the effectiveness of a church-based program created to convince Christian adults that the gospel is for them, bring clarity to their definition of the gospel, and teach them how the gospel functions to make them more like Christ. The program consisted of sermons, small group discussion and daily devotional reading. All Christians are required to grow spiritually. In both Testaments, God revealed himself as a holy God, and commands that all his children be holy. Only the Holy Spirit can form and shape them into the image of Christ. With that in mind, the present project entailed the development of a course on spiritual formation at Faculté de Théologie Evangélique de l'Alliance Chrétienne (FATEAC). Seven new leaders and apprentices along with a host family carried the load of creating our desired result of connecting our church membership into small groups. This project is an attempt to develop a strategy for effective disciple-making and leadership development in a college town church that has a very high turnover rate and a big potential to reach out to scholars from China. In a six month period ideas of the proposed approach were communicated to three groups of participants in multiple sessions of the groups' regular meetings to test the new model's effectiveness. So many Christians do not experience the peace joy and love of Jesus because they do not have that point of connection with Jesus. Spiritual Disciplines are the greatest means to grow in intimacy and relationship with Jesus Christ. As a result, eleven various Spiritual Disciplines were presented to First Baptist Church, Alexandria, Indiana. The disciplines included in this project were: Journaling, service, bible reading, celebration, meditation, silence and solitude, confession, prayer, worship, fasting, and fellowship. The Spiritual Disciplines were presented to the church through preaching and Sunday School. The workshop was developed and implemented by the author in cooperation with Ecuadorian leadership during a two-year term from July, 1999, to June, 2001. Questionnaires and interviews were used to evaluate the outcome. They indicated significant involvement in discipling as much as two years after the workshop. This project describes the organization and execution of a discipling ministry as one part of an overall campus ministry effort in a Christian college.  The purpose of the campus discipling ministry was to strengthen and nurture the spiritual formation of students.  Eighty students who had participated in the formal discipling ministry completed Likert assessment tools.  The data was compiled and analyzed, discovering the strengths and weaknesses of the student discipling experience.
