All Christians are required to grow spiritually. In both Testaments, God revealed himself as a holy God, and commands that all his children be holy. Books and even courses on spiritual formation cannot, in and of themselves, produce spiritual transformation in believers' lives. Only the Holy Spirit can form and shape them into the image of Christ. With that in mind, the present project entailed the development of a course on spiritual formation at Faculté de Théologie Evangélique de l'Alliance Chrétienne (FATEAC). As a result the writer developed and taught the course, 'Towards an evangelical understanding of Roman Catholicism,' covering post-Vatican II theological developments using concepts of adult education. Although evangelicals have serious doctrinal differences with the Catholic Church, this does not rule out cooperation. The course seemed to slightly increase knowledge of the Catholic Church and confidence in sharing the gospel with Catholics.
