Implementation was the main qualitative research method used. The main objective was to implement five different components into the small group ministry with the hope that group participation would increase to a percentage which reflected Central Church's stated vision that small groups were an important way to connect. To start, healthy churches were observed and literature on discipleship was explored. A manual was created and put to use with church leadership and with a focus group of congregants. The culture we live in greatly diminishes the influence of God's Word. This project will seek to introduce the daily reading of Gospel of John as a spiritual discipline to stimulate spiritual growth into lives of a focus group, new to this practice. This project consisted of developing six lessons on prayer principles that would help train church members to grow in praying through growth barriers. Surveys were taken, classes were held and follow-up steps were implemented to pray through growth barriers.
