These moments we might call altar moments. During the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries these moments were put into a strategy of evangelism. Revivalists and crusade evangelists, during this period, used the invitation to an altar of prayer as a way to solidify new found faith. During the Twenty-first Century, the altar call has fallen into disuse. The idea of a 'self-theologizing' church is biblically grounded, yet it is still an unfamiliar practice for evangelicals.  This project involved restructuring an undergraduate mission theology course to familiarize students with the need for theological contextualization, to give the experience in facilitating a 'hermeneutical community,' and to guide them in devising a personal theology of mission. What begins as a major mission to reach the pre-Christian in a particular community will at some point begin to shift in focus. What was once directed outward has now turned inward. This process happens so gradually that the shift is not perceived by church leaders. If this inward-looking phase is allowed to continue, at some point disintegration will begin to take place. Some type of intervention needs to take place for a course correction. There needs to be a re-introduction of evangelism into the life and mission of the congregation. This project is an attempt to develop a strategy for effective disciple-making and leadership development in a college town church that has a very high turnover rate and a big potential to reach out to scholars from China. In a six month period ideas of the proposed approach were communicated to three groups of participants in multiple sessions of the groups' regular meetings to test the new model's effectiveness. This project traces the missional conversation in its ecumenical/mainline and evangelical directions. Adopting three missional themes proposed by Alan Roxburgh, the project explores what it means to be missionally evangelical and Reformed and probes its implications for ministry in a small church setting. It focuses on the promotion of short-term missions through a six-part sermon series that appeals for those in today's church to participate. Personal testimonies, video clips and other resources are also included. Revelation","Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this study is to explore the means to build a solid biblical foundation for the subject of spiritual warfare. The significance of the book of Revelation, especially Revelation 12 and 13, is presented as the theme book for developing a strong biblical foundation. Based on her study, this researcher recommends a stronger integration of biblical theology and missiology in order to establish a biblical foundation for spiritual warfare. In addition, this research suggests a need of a leadership or mission conference for the development of leaders in cross-cultural contexts.
