This project proposes an additional step in the movement from text to praxis via the intermediary of the theological focus for all types of literature, but especially for narrative. To test the effectiveness of this methodology, a five-part preaching series from the book of Ruth was evaluated to determine the model's effectiveness. A comprehensive summary of the biblical data revealed the importance of this practice, and formed the basis for its theology. To illustrate the need for self-talk and to cultivate its practice, a seven-week sermon series was delivered drawing from biblical data. The preaching of the Word effectively confirmed that our inner dialogue matters to God. Study of the Bible, missiological practice, and the Japanese context via surveys and interviews with Japanese pastors indicated that it is a biblically, missiologically, and culturally valid and sound approach for ministry in Japan. The project started with presentations of biblical and theological perspectives on preaching in relation to life situations and historical and sociological perspectives on Korean immigrants in parallel to biblical and other immigrants. The project continued with a survey conducted on a typical Korean immigrant congregation to reveal how sermons influence them and change their perception of what is going on in their lives. The project also included manuscripts of sermons delivered to the congregation during this process. The conclusion of the project was to display the value of sermons that seek to change lives as well as the importance of the faithfulness and humility of the preachers to the Word of God. A six-week preaching series presented the six principles to our church and included evaluative surveys analyzed in this project. The project developed a handbook from which lessons were taught, set forth a normative framework to guide the worship planners, and evaluated the outcome of a month's worth of worship services in order to identify areas where a Christian worldview perspective could be more fully integrated into the corporate worship setting. The research design involved literature reviews, evaluation and feedback from participants in the study, and survey research and evaluations of Sunday morning worship services. This project begins with a summary of the challenges faced by megachurch pastors. A chapter of biblical and historical considerations provides background material on the value of team ministry. Case studies reveal lessons learned through interviews, surveys, and onsite visits at churches that have incorporated a team-preaching model. The categories for this descriptive analysis include their homiletic structures, strategies for interpreting the Bible and its uptake in the delivery of a sermon, and observations concerning actual sermon delivery.  Having analyzed and described these styles of preaching, the project author further engages them through an exercise of replication whereby these particular styles are imitated in sermons composed by the project author and preached to a congregation-based focus group.
