Material was developed to teach about spiritual formation. The first ten chapters of the book were developed into a ten-week group experience. Each week the participants read and meditated on the text, then discussed it through questions that were drafted by the author. The effectiveness of the ten-week series was measured by giving questionnaires at the beginning and end of the series. To test this idea of community, we conducted leadership training to handle every member should they decide to join one. Seven new leaders and apprentices along with a host family carried the load of creating our desired result of connecting our church membership into small groups.
