Worksheets with assigned passages and questions were distributed and returned for pre-training assignments, in-training homework, and concluding with a post-training project. The pre- and post-training worksheets were compared to determine the trainee's understanding and application of the principles. Yet, through video partnerships, these churches have a chance to be or become missional. The nature of these rural video partnerships has been to help existing but dying rural churches find support and facilitate its health and life. This project surveyed past and present video partners to help determine whether the partnerships were or are achieving those goals. This project assessed the effectiveness of integrational ministry to single mother-led households in DuPage County, Illinois. Exegesis of key biblical passages revealed that these families were analogous to the widows and orphans in the biblical text. Data was collected via surveys of both church leadership and single mothers to determine ministry effectiveness to these families. Focus groups of ministry leaders used the survey data to assess current local church ministry and determine areas of needed improvement. The project augmented the author's seminar Discover Your Ministry ID. The ministry of the whole people of God according to their God-given design, ministry role, and purpose was explored, along with examining Christian volunteer culture. Implementation included data-gathering, training workshops, and an appreciation banquet for volunteers. Jesus summed up these as the two most important commands. The purpose of this project was three-fold: to explore how people understood what it means to practice loving God and others to determine the impact this has on their spiritual growth; to determine if Christians demonstrate a holistic approach to loving God, or instead have a primary or choose a preferred method to loving and drawing close to God; and last, to work with individuals and small groups of Christians to recognize the import and centrality of the commands. The project occurred in seven stages. A comparison of the information gathered from the focus-group research to the post-training survey indicated the success of the project. Nonetheless a finding emerged revealing that in general participants did not understand and pr  actice loving God and loving others in the manner prescribed and exhorted throughout Scripture. I proposed that doulos be translated slave based on the Pauline assessment and modeling of this biblical doctrine.  Relevant data was gathered using a mixed-method approach to equip PR to parallel two motifs or models: slaves of Christ with slaves to sin who support the prosperity gospel heresy.  The slave language was challenging as PR consists of offspring of American slaves. Yet PR leaders agreed to participate in this project to dispel misunderstanding and encourage an examination of biblical teaching on this avoided topic. The Army Chaplain Corps is only at 33-percent personnel strength in terms of Catholic chaplains. Retaining Army Catholic chaplains has become increasingly important in light of Department of Defense budget cuts; moreover, retention is more cost-effective for the Army than recruitment. A comprehensive summary of the biblical data revealed the importance of this practice, and formed the basis for its theology. To illustrate the need for self-talk and to cultivate its practice, a seven-week sermon series was delivered drawing from biblical data. The preaching of the Word effectively confirmed that our inner dialogue matters to God. Current models, however, have been deficient in teaching the basics of spiritual warfare based solely on biblical principles. This project, therefore, developed lectures on three basic biblical principles of spiritual warfare, taught accompanying lessons, and evaluated learning outcomes to identify if men were conditioned for battle-ready leadership. The research plan included one goal with four objectives. Journal assignments provided the majority of affective data to measure if and how goal accomplishment was achieved. The task appears even more challenging when preaching Old Testament narratives, because this genre usually does not offer obvious statements from which preachers can formulate applications. What kind of lessons should be drawn from biblical narratives? How does the preacher develop hermeneutically sound and contemporarily relevant applications from this genre?  The project centered around two goals: to enhance the congregants' competence in applying OT narratives to their lives; and to improve the quality of sermon applications in the project writer's preaching. The project implemented proposed theories by developing and delivering a sermon series on Genesis 37-50 in the project writer's congregation.
