This project proposes an additional step in the movement from text to praxis via the intermediary of the theological focus for all types of literature, but especially for narrative. To test the effectiveness of this methodology, a five-part preaching series from the book of Ruth was evaluated to determine the model's effectiveness. The initial church's understanding of Christ is encapsulated in passages scattered through the New Testament called Christological hymns. The project sought to discover whether a sermon series that unpacks and contextualizes the Christology found in these hymns will enhance college students' understanding of who Christ is, and why we serve him wholeheartedly. Rather than appearing to condone the abusive actions of a few by not openly discussing the subject, the church needs to give voice to those women as one means of helping them find their way into healing. The project summarized the major issues that affect these women, and offered ten Bible studies designed to assist them, addressing matters such as anger, guilt, shame, repentance, and forgiveness both from a biblical and a psychological perspective.
