Traditional American blues melodies in the public domain offered a rich source of musical accompaniment for Peruvian worship songs. A congregation in Tarapoto, Peru, participated in a series of six lyric writing workshops using an action research model. Group poetry writing methods based on the work of Kenneth Koch were implemented. Elements of the lament psalms were incorporated into each workshop song. The research proves Whitefield's doctrinal preaching content was a primary factor for why God used him so mightily in the Great Awakening era and beyond contrary to common misinterpretations for his success. A six-week preaching series presented the six principles to our church and included evaluative surveys analyzed in this project. The study employed qualitative and quantitative methods via surveys and interviews of missionaries, church leaders, and lay members within the EMC. The study determined that there has been a decline with multiple mitigating factors. This project sought to increase the effectiveness of teaching and preaching Hebrew narratives in the local church via a five week seminar to equip participants in discovering the central thrust of Old Testament narratives. Goals and objectives were established, relevant data gathered, analyzed from volunteers. An analysis of the data revealed notable improvements in the participants' overall effectiveness in teaching narrative. Through a sermon series, a focus group Bible study, and questionnaires, the project sought to discover biblical and theological correspondence with the denomination's position. The key conclusion of the research was that with some exception there was among the congregation congruence with the denomination's doctrinal statement on a vital teaching that seems unpopular or unwelcome in the current climate of 'felt-needs' ministry. Implementation was the main qualitative research method used. The main objective was to implement five different components into the small group ministry with the hope that group participation would increase to a percentage which reflected Central Church's stated vision that small groups were an important way to connect. These seven words which start with the letter 'c' represent seven biblical elements of evangelism. This project produced lessons for a particular congregation so they could learn and practice personal evangelism according to these seven biblical elements of evangelism. This report explored the biblical foundations and the theological reflections of these seven biblical elements and formulated them into a ten-lesson course. A pre-teaching survey of the knowledge of the students about these elements and a similar post-teachng survey served as the guidelines for the course design as well as the basis for the evaluation of the teaching. As a result, the students involved practiced personal evangelism through the biblical elements learned, and the writer of the report gained experience on teaching what the Bible says about
