The focus of this material is the specific impact of pluralism on the development of family values and the Christian community.  The research was based on a case study of a particular congregation and its perception of pluralism in value formation.  The conclusion was drawn that pluralism in its most negative sense has infiltrated most Christian thinking. Ths information was gained through a written survey of those missionaries who had completed the Assemblies of God Graduate School (AGGS) pre-field training program.  The results of the survey showed a strongly favorable response to the AGGS pre-field training program, with those aspects dealing with cross-cultural communication and cultural adjustment rating the highest.  Language learning was of greatest concern. The principles of andragogy employed in a non-formal setting were found to be the most effective.  Training for cross-cultural service required a heavy emphasis on the development of interpersonal skills. The history of Latin American Christianity reveals that the gospel has not been fully and meaningfully communicated, and that traditional methods, which have been strictly theologically oriented, have been polemical and relatively unsuccessful.
