A bi-monthly, six-hour spiritual enrichment cluster assisted pastors at their own level of spirituality.  Clusters included assignments and readings, discussion of two disciplines, and sharing progress in implementing the disciplines. Assessment instruments gave pastors a before and after evaluation of their individual progress.  Pastors registered not only an increased passion for God, but also personal growth in the fruit of the Spirit.  Daily times spent in prayer and reflection increased appreciably. The intention is to identify and apply biblical and leadership principles for pastors encountering faith stretching periods of ministry such as times of change, conflict, and crisis. The  project will seek to guide the local pastor in personal growth and maturity in Christ during stressful seasons of ministry. A personal guidebook is included. The pastoral model in this project is the Apostle Paul as he provided leadership to the church in Corinth, particularly through the letter of 2 Corinthians. The project surveys literature reviewing issues facing pastors. The author surveyed 900 churches in five evangelical Canadian congregational-based denominations, covering denominational leaders, the senior pastor, and a key lay leader from each church. Pastor Care proposes that with denominational leaders acting as a catalyst, lay leaders can create a culture of care among local church leaders and assist pastors to find a mentor.
