This project will advocate that trained transitional leaders, also called interim pastors, are best trained to deal with those congregational dynamics between permanent pastors.  After clarifying the issues involved when congregations lose their pastors this project looks to the scriptures to identify similar dynamics of change to find ministry suggestions.  It then tabulates the results of surveys sent out to American Baptist Church interim pastors, search committees, and incoming permanent pastors in assessing the work of interim pastors.
