Circumstances forced a reconsideration of a preconceived religious and academic orientation concerning demonic activity amongst Christians.  The work suggests that it is wrong to think that the presence of the Holy Spirit excludes the presence of demons. Scriptural examples of demonization are presented.  The paper describes the character and attributes of Satan and how he can affect a believer. The project also researched the writings of the major Princeton theologians: Alexander, the Hodges, and Warfield, noting the many references they made to the elements of power encounter.  The Princetonians wrote from a Reformed and exegetical perspective.  The author concludes that the Princetonians offer much needed biblical counsel regarding power encounter.  Miracles are not denied; but, miraculous gifts are refuted for the post-apostolic church upon biblical grounds.  Great care must be taken in verifying alleged miracles.
