The author researched the premise that narrative preaching is the only way to effectively preach the gospel today.  He composed six sermons based on Daniel 1-6 and patterned them after the elements of narrative composition and careful exegesis of the text itself.  He explored the views of various authors pertaining to inspiration, authority of Scripture, and illumination on the hearer. A narrative sermon is a biblical message employing the use of story and plot to inductively communicate the author's main thought of--ordinarily--a biblical narrative. This project accomplishes this by identifying a theology of preaching, by defining the narrative sermon, by critiquing homiletical books on Acts, by showing how to write a narrative sermon, and by preaching Acts 13-28 to a local church.
