The project deals with the subject in several major areas.  First, a definition of applied doctrinal preaching is formulated. The conclusions are biblically and sociologically informed.  Modern theories of church growth and the history of preaching are taken into consideration. The methodology was to research homiletical principles of application, preach sermons utilizing these principles, and to co-teach a Sunday School class on 'How to get more out of a sermon' which served as the feedback group.
