This purpose was achieved by developing three key phases of: preparation, connecting and equipping. The course explored the Biblical call to transformation, stages of faith development, and twelve spiritual disciplines (solitude, silence, practicing the presence of Christ, fasting, secrecy, physicality and spirituality, Christian meditation, study, simplicity, rest, practicing justice, and perseverance). The ten issues highlighted were: (1) who am I? (2) God's Word, (3) prayer, (4) solitude, (5) time, (6) pain, (7) temptation, (8) humility, (9) forgiveness, and (10) the evidence, which is the fruit of the Spirit.  The project was accomplished in ten teaching sessions which lasted 1 1/2 hours per session.  Individual mentoring was also part of the process. Questionnaires were given at the beginning and at the end of the program.  The results of the questionnaires indicated that students grew in their Christian faith as demonstrated by an increase in discernible discipleship habits.  The liturgy helped facilitate that end.  The mentors developed relationships with the mentorees that empowered them to grow in their Christian faith. The achievement of these objectives is evaluated through the use of reflections by retreat participants, surveys of retreat alums, and interviews with pastors.
