The ability to utilize music appropriately and skillfully is instrumental in bringing about an awareness of the manifested presence of God during worship. The ten issues highlighted were: (1) who am I? (2) God's Word, (3) prayer, (4) solitude, (5) time, (6) pain, (7) temptation, (8) humility, (9) forgiveness, and (10) the evidence, which is the fruit of the Spirit.  The project was accomplished in ten teaching sessions which lasted 1 1/2 hours per session.  Individual mentoring was also part of the process. The author researched biblical and other historical revivals, as well as other revival literature.  He also surveyed his congregation and other pastors and ministry leaders to help determine his approach.  A theology of revival was derived from Scripture and a plan to stir a hunger for revival was developed from that theology.  The plan that was implemented focused primarily on the word of God and prayer. The chaplain conducted a pre-test spiritual assessment, three months of spiritual intervention, and a post-test spiritual assessment. The initial spiritual injuries scores were documented; then the chaplain provided spiritual intervention group therapy, individual counseling, and chapel services to address the patient's spiritual injuries and move the patient toward a spiritual awakening and increased sobriety. The resulting 'prayer life' church-wide emphasis combined large group teachings with self-study materials and small group discussions and activities designed specifically to work within the cell-based church environment. The author limited the scope of the study in the groups to five key areas of spiritual growth and the groups met for one and a half hours, once a week for forty one weeks.  The author evaluated the groups at the mid-point and at the end of the group life. Evaluative tools employe were surveys and personal interviews. Implications for the role of the pastor are drawn from these, with the Old Testament 'man of God' and Jesus' 'servant' and 'shepherd' models emerging as formative.
