The methodology was to research homiletical principles of application, preach sermons utilizing these principles, and to co-teach a Sunday School class on 'How to get more out of a sermon' which served as the feedback group. The project also examined and critiqued those factors which affected church growth positively and negatively. Research included examination of all pertinent books, articles, correspondence, and reports.  In addition, interviews of many church leaders and questionnaires sent to dozens of Alliance leaders past and present, were utilized. The nature of volunteerism and the theological basis for ministry were researched.  The project involved a two-sided emphasis.  First, a computerized ministry file was developed for aiding church leaders in discovering available volunteers.  Secondly, a ministries notebook was developed to aid potential volunteers in discovering available ministry positions.  A procedure was implemented for the use of both tools.
