Thirty cancer patients were interviewed using questionnaires: one gathered personal background and medical information and the other assessed spiritual well-being.  The findings indicated that religious beliefs were significant.  Daily prayer was associated with spiritual well-being, but religious affiliation and church attendance were not. The research was conducted by a questionnaire to 411 recent donors to The Good Shepherd Home for the Aged in Ashland, Ohio. For evaluative purposes the project is divided into four categories: 1) pre-test; 2) post-test; 3) six-week post-test; and 4) personal assessment telephone interviews. Two hundred and forty-four questionnaires were analyzed to determine the influence of the program on life style, witness and evangelism and to see if it encouraged and produced evangelism callers.  The results in general were positive. It proposes the thesis that it is possible to recount a congregation's history by listening to the preaching that occurred there. The project conducts a literary analysis of sermons preached in three Lutheran congregations in Northwest Ohio during a given year.  This analysis is laid alongside the descriptions of significant parish events in bulletins, newsletters and other written documents. The project examined theological presuppositions, descriptions of each enrichment program, evaluations of the results of each program, and many of the sources for marriage enrichment.  The theological presuppositions came out of the examination of selected scriptures, and how Baptists have hisorically interpreted those in their statements of faith.  The evaluation compared the scores of a pre-session and post-session 'marital communication inventory'.  These scores indicated areas of improvement in communication. The thesis was tested in marriage counseling, in care of the dying and bereaved, and in unemployment counseling.
