Despite this increase, faith-based resources created for children with ASD are scarce. In response, this research project reviewed existing sociological, psychological and theological literature-accompanied by data obtained from a parent focus group, expert review, and professional feedback-to create a faith-based storybook using communication techniques specified for children with ASD. The methodology undertaken was Participatory Action Research and included resident surveys, missional health assessments, and interviews. The importance of individual growth and growth in community was evident in the author's spiritual autobiography in Chapter 2. Chapter 3 discussed models of spiritual formation, with a focus on Celtic spirituality, which is noted for its emphasis on community. The research conducted during the project as discussed in Chapter 4 also showed how one needs community in order to deepen one's relationship with God. The first part looks at how mentoring and personal prayer practices influenced my personal spiritual journey. The second part provides practical enhancements to an existing model of spiritual formation and discusses the place of small groups, suffering, mentoring, and personal spiritual practices in that enhanced model. Finally, in the third part I review a ministry project where I mentored seven individuals in their personal prayer lives over a seven-week period. The study materials were delivered to participants in an online environment. The teaching goals of this Bible study were to enable believers to understand and reflect on essential Christian doctrines, apply it to their daily lives, and engage in biblical behavioural practices as a result.This project was conducted and tested with twenty participants. Data collection tools included an initial written narrative, the responses to a 14-week online study Created for Relationship, an online course evaluation survey, and a second written narrative. The findings indicate that CMB were aware of their need to learn and grow in their new relationship with God, however, discipleship in a world of online social connections requires the same intentional mentorship relationship as in-person discipleship. This project demonstrated that online discipleship can be complex, but is a feasible endeavor when a relational rapport has been established between the discipler and the
