Implementation occurred on the Westside of Detroit, Michigan. The mixed research utilized: (1) participant observations; (2) focus groups; (3) survey and questionnaires; and (4) data collection from interviews, newspapers and published reports. The findings clarified approaches for community engagement and isolated barriers. The summary conclusion supports the church, collaborative partners and residents' engagement in community events that may significantly reduce youth violence. Christian virtues increase the effectiveness of young people in academics, community involvement, and their participation in the life of the church. The hypothesis is that the youth of Second Baptist Church will increase participation and involvement in the church and community. The effectiveness of the project will be measured by employing qualitative methodology, utilizing pre and post-test, and journaling through a series of workshops. The overall research goal was to heighten an understanding of the person and work of the Holy Spirit and motivate participants to minister in the power of the Spirit specifically healing. The study consisted of a packet of two books by revivalist Randy Clark given to participants with a pre and post read questionnaire. The results showed a trend toward a high self evaluation of the theology of the Holy Spirit but in actual praxis, very low numeric values in terms of quantifiable praxis. To answer the research questions, qualitative research methods were used, specifically methodological triangulation: a questionnaire was disseminated to one group, and interviews were conducted with two other groups of prayer ministers. The instruments were developed for data collection. A pilot study was conducted ensuring reliability and validity; adjustments were made accordingly.
