Can Christians be taught to be more aware of God's guidance when doing acts of compassion? This qualitative action research project examined this question by introducing traditional United Methodists to a new method of spiritual formation, Compassion Awareness Training (CAT). The project contained six CAT sessions and two implementation sessions. CAT sessions included instruction about compassion and listening to God, treasure maps of Spirit-inspired clues for a compassion event, and Wesleyan Quadrilateral based questions to clarify clues.
