The context of the ministry model was an inner-city church in the mid-Atlantic region. The method used a one-group pretest-posttest instruction design that was evaluated through questionnaires, in-process evaluations compose of open- and closed-ended questions, and attendance measurements. Mentoring is valuable in reversing behavior associated with fatherlessness. Occupying the time of troubled youth and offering them a sense of belonging through youth-specific activities can be effective in promoting socially appropriate values.
