Occupying the time of troubled youth and offering them a sense of belonging through youth-specific activities can be effective in promoting socially appropriate values. Only when homeless, addicted African American males know their history, their place in Scripture, principles of stewardship, and their relationship with God will they be able to appropriate knowledge needed for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
