Eight African American women attended two health workshops and studied daily with the Fruit of the Spirit devotional guide over a three-week period.  The participants complete pre- and post-workshop questionnaires to determine any changes in their health and spiritual views after completing the program. The knowledge of medical and spiritual health of the women increased after the program. Three models of incarnational mission in community development were presented as case studies: Canaan Farmer's School, Doo-Rae Community Movement, and Da-Il Community Church. Findings were related to historical and practical studies, and to theological reflections. The district superintendent was the convener, a co-participant, and provided leadership by precept and example.  Sessions included theological foundations of wellness, a medical evaluation of each participant, identification of healthy eating and exercise habits, and application of learnings to the local church and community.  All participants met at least one of their goals relating to diet and/or exercise. A qualitative pro-active research methodology was used involving a case study design to develop a comprehensive narrative based on pre-test and post-test surveys, interviews, quantitative demographic data, and field notes.  Fourteen members of the congregation were involved, eight registered modest improvements in personal computer skills, two reported substantial increases, and four dropped the training. The effect of positive faith on physical, mental, and spiritual wellness was tested.  Verbal and written responses of a group of twenty volunteers from the First United Methodist Church of Monahans, Texas to a series of sermons and positive coaching was the basis of this study.  The participants ranged in age from seventeen to seventy five. Canadian Armed Forces"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This is a pilot program designed to identify the types of issues and skills useful to chaplains and other health care professionals working with military members suffering from symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  As a result, a spiritual health presentation was developed and taught to a group of seven military members of the Canadian Armed Forces as part of a psycho-educational PTSD group program.  Administration of questionnaires and verbal responses was the the basis of the evaluation of effectiveness.
