This report describes the diversity within the district which was the setting for this project.  The biblical and theological foundations for the project. The biblical and theological foundations for the project are shared.  A detailed description of the workshop and the methodologies used are given. The challenge is even more difficult when the denomination is pluralistic. This project, conducted at St Mark United Methodist Church, Springfield, Ohio, developed a process to help the congregation determine its identity and purpose and to evaluate fairly its potential ministry.  It addressed the problem through a process of self-assessment.  The candidate provided leadership through collaboration and analysis.
