The construction process presented natural opportunities to encourage change while the parishioners concretely considered their comprehensive needs. A newly formed committee met monthly to reflect upon congregational renewal in five areas: worship, youth ministry, guest friendliness, outreach, and community relations. They also planned worship programming to transition from the former to the new church facility. Interviews, surveys, and the planned church services revealed that renewal had been initiated in the five areas. Church, Elyria, Ohio. This transformation was addressed by implementing a five-step program of enhancing the areas of worship life, music, fellowship, health, and Christian education. These areas were enhanced by workshops, programs, restructuring, and awareness seminars. The implementation phase of the project lasted six months. The T.P.M. was a 24-week intervention program divided into 6-week modules. Each module was used to nurture the physical, psychological, and spiritual development of African American males, at the University Community Christian Church, located at 2171 Avondale Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46218. The Linear Analytic Model included: role play, group discussion, lectures, direct observation, prayer, and scripture. Spiritual gifts inventories were used to determine the giftedness of laity. Lectures were used in the Wesleyan class meeting format, expressing the Wesleyan spirit, supported by tools helpful in accomplishing the desired result. The spiritual gifts inventory and two evaluation questionnaires were used. The context was the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Midway, Kentucky. Two sermons and two workshops were developed to enhance the inclusiveness of new and existing members into the working ministry of the congregation. The learning was supported with scripture and methods of organization for leadership and membership responsibilities. A seven-part sermon series, critical reflective workshops, and didactic experiences enabled members of the Christ Cathedral Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan, to actively participate and question self ills. Ushers at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan were selected to participate in a twelve-week treatment consisting of activities comprised of self-directed learning, critical reflection, and transformative learning. The Levitical priesthood and their temple ministry were used to develop the theological model. The results were a deepened spiritual commitment, an expanded understanding of the biblical and theological foundation for ushering, and an increased desire to participate in ushering as ministry. The problem being the need for the evangelization of the towns college student population. Our methodology for addressing the problem was the establishment of on campus worship services that would be used for Christian evangelism. Worship services were held on the campus of Tuskegee University one a week for eight weeks.
