He selected one particular location where he served as a missionary by applying 'being present' mission strategy. After making friendship with the local people, the author formed some social groups that helped the mission work. He found that his new mission strategy got some interest from Buddhists. Its purpose was to engage people of faith in significant encounters with the other, as presented through these different communities of faith.  Elements of the study included lectures about the history and founding personalities of the religions; class discussion and personal sharing; experiences with food; meetings with spiritual leaders and believers; and opportunities of worship from each tradition.  In addition we received materials and documents pertinent to our own faith tradition.
