The training, unlike the Army’s Single Soldiers Strong Bonds program, welcomes a single servicemembers’ romantic partner. This training incorporates key elements of the Strong Bonds' training, but in less time and with additional resources. The author prepared a questionnaire addressing key aspects of dating for the members of the 3rd Squadron 61st Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. The feedback was used to develop training that focuses on helping single servicemembers acquire the knowledge needed to assess if a potential romantic partner’s qualities are conducive for a healthy romantic relationship.[Note about entry: Abstract submitted to the Atla RIM database on behalf of the author. As a way of understanding character, this project offers a conceptual model for four negotiations that constitute the human endeavor for making decisions.  The project introduces these negotiations to participants, invites them to identify one, and gives them an opportunity to consider current social issues with those of like negotiation. Each session included Bible study, class exercises, the use of student journals, and assigned tasks to be accomplished between class sessions.  The course introduced the concept of transition moments as life situations requiring decisions, identified examples of those experiences in a midshipman's career, and related the Christian gospel to those moments as a resource for personal and spiritual growth.  A student evaluation of the course indicated that the concept of transition moments was understood and applied to personal experiences within the brigade.
