It presents research conducted by analyzing a survey which was completed twice, before and after six weeks of study, by three groups in two different churches. The method of study was based on faith practices, opportunities for interaction, one-on-one interviews, and surveys disseminated to leaders and members of each group. A change in understanding of lay ministry is necessary to overcome the inactivity or passivity of the laypersons.  This requires a change from a consciousness based on the Confucian tradition to the Christian idea based on the Bible and Christian tradition. This project suggests a better understanding of ministry and church office, educational programs, and important implications that are necessary for the Korean Church to activate lay ministry.
