Peacemaking in the church is an unavoidable call for pastors and church members. They need to put into practice biblical, redemptive ways for peacebuilding as they respond to conflict. The Christian peacemaking approach requires spiritual discernment. The author presented such tools as biblical texts on conflict transformation like Acts 15 and 1 Corinthians 1, narrative theology and narrative leadership in order to claim the biblical faith in Jesus, the Crucified and the Mediator. These are utilized by sorting out 'competing stories' against the Christian narrative that conflicting situations often cause. In favor of the conflict transformation theory and practice, the author presented mediation processes such as the Circle Process that work well in the field of conflict transformation. Also the author stressed the practice of liturgical leadership among Christian mediators or peacemaking pastors and church members."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718763755470848,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:39:21.748Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:38:15Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:40:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1d715b9a-b1b4-4c88-9870-a0360c9dbb9b","accessControl_ssim":["4cd1d6a2-7e86-4541-8c9c-bd35045123f3"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Affirming the suffering identity: re-writing suffering narratives of the Korean-American immigrant through small group Bible study"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:38:13Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:00:00Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0c15685a-6b97-4b54-a020-7600597243ec"],"hasLease_ssim":["1a323451-1ac6-4eaf-bc2a-5340346a4730"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The exercise also allowed each church to enter into God's greater story, which they are a part of."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719282048761856,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:47:36.031Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:16:47Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:25:24Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"cad76819-6e34-44ac-9c73-461d31f683f9","accessControl_ssim":["9b1925cf-1783-4e93-b9ac-e31fd11b2fcc"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["I love to tell the story: congregational narrative in evangelism"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:16:46Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:57:48Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["534b4cb0-9cf9-4d9d-960a-e6e6e3dbda8d"],"hasLease_ssim":["3d95d602-bce2-4f67-b16d-15becdaf243c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Personal testimonies realistically depict our everyday life and are at the core of who we are as Christians. In sharing our testimony of what God has done for us in a corporate worship service, we create the space for authentic God-talk to take place among Christians. The basic hypothesis is that since the advent of the megachurch, the small Black churches have followed the trend and exchanged the mid-week testimony and Bible study service for the 'pastor's Bible study.' In losing the testimony service, members lost the vehicle to share their stories and experiences of the Holy Spirit and how they have overcome in difficult situations. The author conducted seven weeks of workshops to educate members on testimony, narrative theology and hospitality, scheduled a week for members to share personal testimonies and listen as an act of love, and administered pre-surveys and post-surveys."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720526140145664,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:07:22.489Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:57:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:39:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"fd2e8d71-1633-4747-a417-82bbf2f51752","accessControl_ssim":["e4fd3f11-bcdc-469f-9251-6c933a7f12aa"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The insights, practices, and benefits of narrative theological Bible study"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:57:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:22:17Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["89a23e9b-f0ec-4454-90a4-a266e777de80"],"hasLease_ssim":["8a4ff862-595c-4094-bc14-ec0cedff01b0"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Michael E Williams"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min.
