This effort was to stop their decline and aid their identity challenge, which included the retirement of their founding pastor of 33 years. This case study used the ethnographic method through participant observation and field notes. Metrics were collected and produced throughout the year and a half in which the project took place. My goal in this dissertation is to explore how sincerely and eagerly John Wesley pursued the holiness of heart and life, throughout his life journey. He suggested four methods/models of dialogical preaching in Life Stream Church. The analysis suggests that preacher can more effectively transmit well Word of God to congregation. Congregation also more understand and meet with God's word. They make an effort themselves to practice words of God in their real life. The author believes that these generations have been lured away from prophetic ministry and enticed by negative cultural influences.  The cultural influence that is having significant impact is the American culture of consumerism which has appeared in the church as prosperity preaching.  The author interviewed and surveyed the X and Y generations, researched biblical prophets and examined cultural influences. Conversely, an effectively managed pastoral persona can actually aid in the communication of a message.  This project explores the issue and offers strategies for effectively managing pastoral persona.  The project surveys scholarship on the subject of rhetoric, a study of celebrity preachers, and the results of two focus groups held to explore issues of pastoral persona with mid career pastors and with seminary students. The first is how does a post feminist preacher bridge the divide between evangelical traditional theology and social activism? The second is how can she persevere in pastoral ministry for the long haul? As she worked through her own story she discovered that preaching was a significant means for expressing the duality of her theology. The method used was to have personal interviews with the participants in a workshop.
