Can Jeonnong Methodist Church be established as a green community church that accepts the environmental crisis and responds to it as an essential issue of faith? And can this environmental practice become a valid tool for communicating with the church's surrounding region? Then will the church show a way to move forward as a village church? The three mission theologies discussed in this paper are suggested as methods to overcome this problem. The first is ecumenical mission theology. This theology is used as the perspective for looking at environmental and ecological problems. The second is 'Laudato si'', written by Pope Francis. The integrated ecology presented in 'Laudato si'' gives a deep insight into practical theology with a strong foundation in spiritual theology. The third is the village ministry theory, which has recently been spotlighted as a natural result of local ecumenism. Environmental faith inherently aims for recovery by using communication and harmony. These three theological frameworks allow an assessment of whether green faith can be implemented through practical theology and missiology. . . .' -- Leaf [2]."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126565915983873,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:30:03.347Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:43:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:28:11Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d5b6087f-a37e-412a-a923-c232e9ff755a","accessControl_ssim":["ed64b2cb-7c43-4051-9c9b-32e01bb56cf1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Wellsprings in the wilderness : forming shared ministries as a United Methodist renewal strategy"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:43:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:14:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1b466a9c-5a7e-4ea3-a16c-b69219e72aef"],"hasLease_ssim":["05f873a3-5a52-42f7-879a-7f443fb0aebc"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lovett Weems"],"year_tesim":["2019"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. This project challenges two assumptions as the church seeks to respond: (1) there is a formula for success in multi-ethnic ministry, and (2) small churches are not likely to be successful. This project is an anthropological narrative of a small, rural Anglo United Methodist Church in Tennessee that initiated and sustained an effective multi-ethnic ministry with Hispanics. The tension between the church as a movement and as an institution will be explored. The author presents historical and Wesleyan theological foundations that offer validity for the import and perseverance of such churches. Instruments based on the interaction of biblical narrative, church history, and personal spirituality were designed to advance the spiritual growth of a core study group. The congregation explored methods of reframing their story through historical reflection of past narrative events, faith visioning for the future and community building through creativity and play. The implication of this project are that a rural small membership church with God's help, faithful utilization of their spiritual resources, and diligence, can recover their community and purpose of mission."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720680473755648,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:09:49.673Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
