'From Text to Talkies' is a workshop that introduced church leaders to the theory and theology behind digital communication, addressed some of the common concerns with 'jumping on that bandwagon,' and modeled ways to communicate the good news in the digital age, including traditional storytelling. Though small member congregations are challenged by lack of resources, meaningful multimedia worship using art is possible.  She found it challenging to balance technology with tradition, and to separate the secular from the sacred.  Attending to the awareness of the variety of art forms, learning styles, ages, and cultures allows people to worship in meaningful ways.  Current and historical controversies continue concerning images, icons, and idolatry.  Worship using art involves preparation, presentation, and processing.
