Forerunner Ministries is one of the first in the nation to systematize a national ministry for older adults.  Research for this project was accomplished through surveys, interviews, and appropriate book and literature exploration. Part II describes research conducted by means of convenience sampling using a 103-item questionnaire among 451 active Protestants and Roman Catholics fifty-five years of age and older in a midwestern community.  Factor analysis determined five dimensions of religiosity named orthodoxy, personal faith, treatment, satisfaction with life, and dissatisfaction with life. Comparison and correlation of factors and items found a positive attitude about life and more so about congregations.  Men want to feel more useful to their congregations. The manual is designed to acquaint the volunteer with all aspects of the aging process including the needs of senior adults, the myths concerning seniors, and the anxieties common to the elderly.  The book outlines how church congregations can work with seniors to help meet their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.  An organizational model for a senior adults' group is included as well as surveys that can be used in communities and facilities for seniors.
