Where there is moral decay there is abuse and oppression, and consequently many victims.  This project presents a Biblical, psychological and moral approach to the problem of abuse and victimization.  It explains the nature of abuse and characteristics of victims and abusers.  It defines the nature of courage and the seven moral skills that produce it.  Moral courage empowers people to escape from tyranny and abuse, and fulfill God's magnificent will. It creates both a workbook and manual to be used during an orientation meeting of the  Executive Board.  A biblical foundation is laid for the need of a governing board and characteristics that should be present in a board member.  After considering how other state Baptist conventions do board orientation, the focus of this project narrows specifically to how orientation should be done in Wyoming. Generally speaking, the traditional approach has been for churches to form a nominating committee.  The committee then picks the best available men in the church, the congregation or Board of Elders then votes on and appoints these men to the Board.  The problem with this approach is that it does nothing to prepare men for the most important position that a human being can hold: an elder or overseer of the church of God. This, from a practical standpoint, must involve training and discipleship.
