Through multiple interviews at sites in Oregon and Washington, the author discovered that welcoming newcomers requires the church to adopt a missional mindset that serves the community. Congregants individually serve where the community sees a need and build relationships that provide a basis for introducing friends to Jesus. It contains elements of evangelism and discipleship training that one will find from materials developed by various churches and para-church groups, written from a Filipino-American perspective. Included in this product are discussions of the biblical basis for an equipping ministry and on the need for culturally based Christian materials for all ethic groups.
