The local church should be the center for counseling and the pastor should supervise the counseling ministries under his authority.  There should be training for counseling ministries and the gifts of the Spirit are an integral part of them.  Method of research was a technique centered study with a focus on methods, models and programs used in counseling.  There were interviews with pastors, professional counselors and lay counselors.  There was an analysis of the history of the psychiatric hospitals in America established by the Mennonite Church.  There were also many case studies done by the author.  Much of the counseling is being done by Mennonite professionals and is mostly secular in content.  Some counseling is done by lay persons one-on-one and in small groups. Some pastors do biblical counseling and there are some congregational counselors. Documentary research indicates that shamanism is resilient and pervasive in its influence because it always satisfies man's inborn desires.  Syncretism has occurred when shamanism meets Christianity, with the result that Koreans are confused about the nature of faith.   Field research demonstrates a positive correlation (0.763) between shamanism and spiritual depression.  A worksheet was made for the spirituality depressed in accordance with the special context of shamanism.
