Many evangelical churches struggle to integrate fuller expressions of creativity and art into their worship spaces and services. Many artists in these congregations remain on the sidelines, and churches that persist in one-dimensional communication become less intelligible to the world. The study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with seven liturgical artists. It also surveyed literature from biblical material, art history, liturgical aesthetics, and creativity. After addressing criticism of the term 'beauty,' the paper discusses Bonaventure and Duns Scotus, theories of organizational frames and imaginative learning, and reflects on the project in light of new monasticism. In this project, an intertextual reading of the Song of Songs unfolds a beauty that is objective, that reveals the distance of delight between God and creation. This project examines the theological perspectives of Saint Augustine, Jonathan Edwards, and David Bentley Hart, all of who work toward trinitarian theologies of beauty. The project was motivated in large part by the lack of attention to the arts in conservative, evangelical churches in America.  Two groups from such a church, Circleville First Baptist Church in Ohio, completed this seven-session study in early 2004.  Simultaneously, the author preached a sermon series utilizing art entitled Finding Beauty in the Bible.  The response to the use of art and the principles regarding genuine beauty was overwhelmingly
