Twelve participants were selected from the South English Street Church of Christ (Greensboro, North Carolina). It met for eight weeks reading and discussing material dealing with racism, Black rage, Christian spirituality, leadership, the Black church, and White Christianity.  The group experienced increased understanding of the spiritual and social ills afflicting Black men.  The participants felt closer to one another and spiritually stronger. This study examines the role of worship in the African-American communityand why African-American males feel excluded from worship. The surveys revealed that Black men do not attend church because of: poor and irrelevant sermons; lack of a meaningful worship experience; disbelief in God because spiritual values were not emphasized while growing up; and hypocrisy of church members and leaders. A volunteer group of Black males who had overcome their alienation was used to help members of the target group to do the same.  The project report includes the findings of three surveys, the results of eight weeks of interaction between the volunteer group and the target group, and conclusions and recommendations drawn from this
