Culturally based differences in styles of worship, leadership, music and outreach are measured through a t-test.  Differences in orientation result in the polarization of the groups.  The project seeks to reconcile the factions through small group interaction and dialogue. The black church has been the main source for growth opportunities for black Americans, but the church has not been able to address all the needs of mind, body, and spirit.  Ministry in the black church will have to be holistic in order to adequately deal with the multiple needs of black people. Growth-groups can assist black people to explore internal, debilitating conditions, and can help create changes in perceptual awareness.
